About

I'm Pete Wallington, a Director of Photography based in Surrey, working throughout the UK and internationally.

I've been fortunate to spend the past two decades working on projects of every scale, from independent feature films and award-winning shorts to productions for broadcasters, agencies and international brands.

I learnt my craft in independent filmmaking, where making the most of the time and resources available is simply part of the job. That background continues to shape the way I work, favouring natural lighting, instinctive handheld operating and camera movement that feels connected to the action. I believe in creating space for actors to perform, keeping things simple and allowing the story to lead every creative decision.

I enjoy working closely with directors from the earliest stages of a project, developing a visual approach that feels right for the story and finding practical ways to bring it to the screen.

Equipment

I'm not tied to a particular camera system because every production has different creative and practical requirements. I build each camera package around the needs of the project, working with trusted rental houses and specialist owner-operators to access every major camera platform.

I also maintain a calibrated DaVinci Resolve grading system for camera testing, look development and colour grading, allowing me to work closely with directors and colourists from pre-production onwards.
